A publisher of intelligent, popular non-fiction seeks a Marketing and Publicity Officer keen to progress in the area of campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Head of Publicity and assisting them in the day-to-day running of the marketing and publicity office. The candidate will be responsible for looking after our social media platforms, designing Amazon A+ pages, creating marketing materials, producing the catalogue, researching, and reaching out to organisations and weekly press and marketing roundup.
Alongside that they will be responsible for answering and responding to media enquiries, preparing press releases and mailings, liaising with authors and booksellers, and coordinating travel plans and schedules. You will also be required to accompany authors to events and literary festivals when the Head of Publicity can’t. Depending on your experience you will have the opportunity to manage some of your own campaigns as well as helping with lead-titles.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain invaluable experience, working across an eclectic non-fiction list. This is a fantastic role for someone who is keen to progress in the areas of publicity and marketing. The ideal candidate will be extremely efficient and organised, possess exceptional communication skills and bring creativity and enthusiasm to the role. You will be confident, professional, enjoy being busy and be able to use your initiative whilst remaining calm under pressure. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of Word, Excel, Gorkana, Canva, InDesign or Photoshop as well as social media skills. We also want someone who loves books and has a passion for Marketing and PR and spreading the word about our books. This is the perfect job for an experienced assistant looking to make a step up. Previous publishing experience is required.
